Privacy Policy — WardTube

WardTube ("the App") is an Android app around the YouTube mobile site, developed by Mohammed Ward. It has no server and no accounts.

1. Who the App talks to

The App needs internet access to show the YouTube site and download files. It connects only to: YouTube (the page you browse and cover images); easylist-downloads.adblockplus.org (ad filter lists, refreshed every four days); yt-dlp update servers (only when updating the download engine or when a download needs it). The Browser screen opens whatever site you type or paste, and text that is not a link is searched on google.com. Those sites follow their own privacy policies.

2. No Data Collection

The App does not collect or send personal data or device identifiers to the developer, and has no ads, analytics, or crash-reporting services. If it closes because of an error it shows a local report that you may copy or share yourself; it is never sent automatically.

3. Local Storage Only

Your settings, browsing history (kept on the device only, deletable by you) and downloads stay on your device. Android backup is turned off for the App.

4. Permissions

Internet, foreground services for playback and downloads, notifications, wake lock while working, and access to audio and video files to show your library. The microphone permission is requested for voice search. None is used to collect or transmit data.
